Marine Biology
July 28, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Adult Program: Joyce and Ted Nutall will be doing a marine biology presentation at the Ross Library at 6 PM on July 28!
From the biggies like sharks, barracudas, and dolphins to the miniature world of cleaning stations, sea slugs, and seahorses, come chat with two Marine Biologists about the fun of exploring the reef and mangrove systems in the Caribbean. We’ll show slides and short videos, answer questions, and share odd facts that might be useful someday in a trivia contest: Hagfish slime is so tough it can be used to make Kevlar. A pistol shrimp can snap its claw so fast the sound can break glass. Plus what it feels like when a shark you haven’t noticed rubs against your arm.
Joyce and Ted Nuttall started snorkeling as tweens and SCUBA diving as teens and studied Marine Biology for 19 years. They enjoy sharing the fun of exploring shallow water reef systems and mangrove forests.
