Books By Mail
Due to COVID-19, Books by Mail is temporarily available for all patrons.
Books by Mail is a free service allowing short-term convalescent, long-term convalescent, permanently homebound resident of Clinton County of all ages to receive and return books to the library via the postal service. The program’s mission is to provide library outreach services to Clinton County residents who cannot physically visit a library. If you or someone you know is interested in participating please contact County Librarian Jim Kownacki at (570)-748-3321 or email email@example.com. Once the registration is approved, users may request materials by filling out the Books by Mail form or calling (570)-748-3321.
There is no limit to the number of books to be received in the mail. However, the orange canvas bag holds approximately three books. Patrons can order by type of material, author or title of choice. Books are checked out for three weeks but are renewed if needed longer. The library will send the materials via the post office and pay the postage both ways so there is no fee to the individual. Each mailed package will contain the requested items and a return mailing label with return postage. The materials are to be returned in the same bag that the requested items were received in.
Postage has been paid by Clinton County Community Foundation, Clinton County United Way and various non-profit organizations through grants.
Questions about Books by Mail should be referred to County Librarian Jim Kownacki at (570)-748-3321 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
